Why Domestic?

My name is Jess & in trying to sum up what I want to cover with my blog, domestic-ness was the underlying current of it all. I am a Christian wife, & mother of 3 littles, trying to improve & build up my relationship with my Lord, my husband, my kids, & those I encounter day-to-day. I am a struggling improving homemaker interested in better organization, cleaning, & de-cluttering methods. We are a brand new homeschooling family, & I will begin keeping my soon-to-be-born niece once my sister returns to work. I am a Texan, born & bred, which means like all Southern women I love to cook... A LOT, & I have no idea how to cook in small batches. And the Tex-Mex in my soul, makes me want to throw a little chili powder, cumin, lime juice in EVERYTHING!

And then my hobbies...depends on when you ask me! I love to learn new things & expand myself! The major undying ones are sewing/quilting, reading, & baking (cookies especially), but I've been known to try my hand at just about anything, & I always have a project in the works. But in the end, it all comes back to the home. All of my hobbies, interests, & pursuits, begin & end, in the home. So that's what I plan to cover with this blog. All my domestic adventures & projects, all the tips & tricks I've learned along the way, all the disastrous, but oh-so-funny fails, all the real stuff.
